So here is bad news for all the Nintendo lovers out there. There is no confirmed news about a new Nintendo Switch yet.
On Tuesday, which was not a long time back, a Nintendo Direct live stream was hosted by none other than Nintendo itself. The live stream had been hosted when the Electronic Entertainment Expo was revealing various video games which were about to come to cheer up the lovers of the company’s popular game. However, since Nintendo Switch hasn’t been confirmed yet, the company is trying its best to make up for it.
Among the various games coming up, there is a sequel to the famous game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, slated for 2022. There is also a new kind of Metroid game called Metroid Dread which is about to arrive later this year.
However, these don’t interest and excite the gamers as all eyes and attention were fixed on an updated Nintendo Switch rumor. The rumor had stated that the update would have reportedly included 4K support and an improved screen.
The equity analyst at AllianceBernstein, Matti Littunen stated that there is a possibility of not seeing a new Nintendo Switch device at least until the next year. He further went on to say that the sales were still quite strong and that the metamorphosis to the new-gen has apparently slowed down.
The after-effects of the year of pandemic, that is 2020, have also been a reason for the delay in launching the all-new Nintendo Switch. Many challenges faced in 2020 like shortage of chips, the difficulties of working from home, and lots of other factors that created a problem have made the year 2021 a year where it would be tough to launch new products.
Sony and Microsoft are focussing on the consolation for the next-gen that had started last year, Nintendo continues to bank on its game as an essential factor over hardware. The amazing PlayStation 5 and Xbox games are a few of the console games but they are still hard to buy.
The last Nintendo Switch hardware update was the only hand-led Switch Lite. It went on sale in 2019 along with an original version of the Switch revision which has a longer battery life comparatively. However, the lite version remains the most affordable Switch of Nintendo and has a more compact design. It also had sturdier and stronger feeling controls, plus it had a D-pad.
But the only drawback of it is that it cannot be docked with a TV, and it also ditches the original Switch’s innovative way of creating detachable controllers, which can work for the same-room multiplayer games.
Nothing can be said about the new Nintendo Switch, and its release date as nothing has been confirmed. But, hopefully, the next year would bring some joy to the Nintendo lovers who have been waiting for the updates for a long time.
